The Basic Training Centre in Ravanapara, established in 1962, is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and affiliated with the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Assam. It is situated in Ravanapara, within the Majuli district. The Basic Training Centre in Ravanapara has a long-standing commitment to excellence in teacher education, emphasizing both knowledge and values. Established with its first batch of in-service teacher training on August 1, 1962, the center has evolved to meet the changing educational landscape. In 2017, it introduced pre-service teacher training courses, which are still running successfully today. The center focuses on the holistic development of its trainees, aiming to cultivate not only effective teaching skills but also critical thinking, ethical values, and community engagement. This comprehensive approach prepares future educators to be resourceful and competent, significantly impacting the quality of education in the Majuli district and beyond.
